How to choose your accessories?
Some accessories are really needed, when others are not.

The first accessory you will buy is probably a bag.
There are different models, corresponding to different needs. In my case, I found a really good backpack from Tamrac.
This model allows to have photography equipments on the bottom, when you have some space on the top to store others items. This bag also contains a dedicated space for laptops.
In addition, you can buy a protection for your backpack, that will be really useful when it is raining.
The second accessory will probably be a tripod:
A lot of different models are existing, but it is important to think that you will need to carry all accessories when traveling.
The Gorillapod from Joby is a really good one, because is small, you can carry it without any issue and fix it almost everywhere.
Some others models could be better and more stable, but this one is very small and really corresponds to my needs.
A good accessory, but not easy to manage, is the external flash:
If you want a good flash, I will probably recommend two different models:
- Speedlite 430EX II
- Speedlite 580EX II
For my personal usage, I bought the 430EX flash. The biggest advantages were the price, the physical size and the weight.
The biggest advantage of the 580EX is the availability to configure it as a master or a slave, when the 430EX can only be set as a slave.
In my case, this is not an issue at all as I can configure my EOS 7D as a "master", to remotely control the Spedlite 430EX flash.
Be careful, because not all digital cameras can control a master flash.

When you have a flash, you need to learn how to use it. In some cases, it could be good to use a diffuser.
For my personal usage, I decided to use the following two models:
- The first one is not really useful, but can help if really needed. This is mounted on the digital camera.
- The second one is to be mounted on Speedlite flashes.
We can find plenty of diffuser models, but I was really looking for something that be packed easily and not take too much space. This was my first and only criteria.
